February 12/April 2- This week is all about plates! We will talk about slabs, low hump molds, and adding extruded feet to platters, plates and pasta dishes. we’ll use templates and custom bisque molds to make multiples so that you can work in a series.

We’ll have some premade bisque molds to play with and we will also talk about how to make your own. We’ll troubleshoot the process of combining parts and some tools that can help. We’ll also discuss pony rollers and how to make your own custom tools.
February 26 / April 16 - This week is all about wax resist techniques on greenware. From squishy slip to bone dry, there’s a lot of options when decorating your work. We’ll talk about Mishima, stamps, texture, slips, underglaze and scraffito.
March 5/ April 23 In this workshop, we will build on the bisque surfaces from last week. We can create layers of wax, glaze and stains for rich and intricate effects.
March 12/April 30 In our last session, we will talk about post-firing surface techniques. Sometimes things do not turn out as planned! Other times, the piece is just begging for another layer. We will talk about epoxy putty and metallic leaf and when these techniques are appropriate.
