Sunday Evening Beginning Wheelthrowing

from $235.00

3PM - 5:30 PM (All Classes are Multi-Level.)

Wheel “Throwing” is the process of shaping a lump of clay using a pottery wheel. The perfect class for students who have limited or no experience working on the potter’s wheel, and those who are looking to refresh or strengthen their basic abilities.

Beginners learn the fundamental skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more. Wedging, centering, pulling, lifting and trimming are demonstrated and practiced. Basic surface decoration techniques are explored and discussed.

Intermediate students build on basic skills and knowledge of throwing and further  technical understanding of clay. More complex functional forms, refinement of throwing skills, and advanced decorative and glazing techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. The class will review and critique fired results to further develop a personal style.

*Please bring your own apron &/ towel. Any other questions? Please contact us at mudlukstudio@gmail.com
